Lieutenant Christopher DeWire

Lieutenant DeWire graduated from the Ocean County Police Academy in 1998 and worked as a police officer in Clinton Township for 2 1/2 years before transferring to Readington in 2001.  He has been with the patrol division since being hired.  In 2006 he was promoted to the rank of Corporal, in 2009 he was promoted to Sergeant and in 2017 was promoted to Lieutenant.

Lieutenant DeWire was born and raised in Hunterdon County.  He holds a A.A.S  in Criminal Justice and is certified as a Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic.  He works part time at Hunterdon Medical Center in this capacity and has been doing so since 1995.  Lieutenant  DeWire is an instructor for the American Red Cross and is responsible for certifying other officers in CPR and the use of AED's  as well as providing training for other first aid related skills.   Lieutenant DeWire has also been a member of the Hunterdon County Swat Team.
